The Apple Fruit Moth
Argyresthia conjugella
The apple fruit moth is found in North America, Europe, Siberia, Central Asia and Japan. The female normally lays her eggs on rowan berries. However, in years with low fruit set the females will lay their eggs on apple, potentially leading to high yield losses. The larvae will feed from the inside of the apple making them unsuited for direct consumption as well as for apple juice production.
